What is Call Of Duty?

Call of Duty is a WWII themed first person shooter, featuring 3 unique single player campaigns and what promises to be a first rate multiplayer experience.

Who are the creators of Call of Duty?

Call of Duty is being developed by Infinity Ward, a team that consists of 22 members that worked on the hit World War II themed PC game, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Publishing Call of Duty is Activision.

When is Call of Duty slated for release?

As far as we know Call of Duty is intended to be released in Fall of 2003.

What type of gameplay and storyline can we expect in Call of Duty?

The gameplay featured in Call of Duty will be very reminiscent of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and many other First Person Shooters. You can expect a cinematic, action packed game that plays out very much like a World War II movie. As stated in the game's overview:

"For the first time, Call of Duty (TM) captures the war from multiple perspectives, through the eyes of American, British and Russian soldiers. Battle through 24 missions spanning 4 interconnected historical campaigns. Take on mission objectives ranging from sabotage and all-out assault to stealth, vehicle combat and rescue. Authentic weapons, locations, vehicles and sounds of war all contribute to the realism, immersing you in the most intense World War II experience yet."

What level of weapons and vehicles are going to be in Call of Duty?

Since Call of Duty is based on World War II, you can expect realistic and historical weapons/vehicles/etc for each of the three Allied sides, and the Axis side. The development team has spared no effort in making sure each and every item in the game is true as possible.

What engine is Call of Duty being built on?

The developers have stated Call of Duty is using a highly modified Quake III engine. Infact, Call of Duty is using the same framework used in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. But don't expect it to stop where RTCW did, the developers have further enchanced the engine with higher polygonal scenes(200,000 polygons), a blended animation/hit detection system(which allows much more fluid and realistic animations), a new lighting/shadow system and pixel/vertex shaders. Also featured in the game is enchanced Artifical Intelligence for enemy/allied characters. This new AI is more squad-based, which means the characters of your squad or unit will act very much as you expect a real military squad to act. As stated in an interview: "AI can jump fences, climb through windows, cover one another, and suppress the enemy autonomously."

What multiplayer will be featured?

The multiplayer is dependant on the map. One map may feature Americans as a team, or Russian or British. Each team is different, with their own type of play against the Axis.

What type of system will I need to run this?

So far we can only guess, but we believe you will need atleast:

• Windows 9x/2000/XP
• 700 MHz Intel or AMD Processor
• 128MB of RAM
• OpenGL compatible video card with 32MB of RAM
• 1 GB of harddrive space

We will update this once the correct specifications are released.
