Election in Iraq
2/3/05Election in Iraq
Posted On 5:30 PM 3 February 2005I've decided to start my first post out with my take on the election in Iraq. For those of you who know me, I have been heavily critical of the President. However, to this I tip my hat in congratulations to President Bush. The election seemed to go off without a hitch, and the Iraqi people seemed to like the Democratic process.
This is a bright mark for the U.S. occupation in Iraq, but we must also keep in mind that this one glowing moment does not squelch a year and a half of blunders. I'm not proposing that we focus solely on the blunders, but that we need to keep them in mind along with the election so we see the upside and the downside in this occupation. I can only hope the situation in Iraq continues to improve, and we can get our brave men and women serving over there back home, where they belongvwhere then can begin training on invading Iran :). Anyway, that's my wrap.
Good night Detroit!
